About the opportunity
An established international search and selection firm is looking to appoint a Project Director with prior data centre delivery experience gained in the UK, Ireland, or other international markets. This is a senior leadership opening for someone who is ambitious, commercially aware, and motivated to deliver major infrastructure projects.
The assignment is centred on a hyperscale data centre project in Finland for a globally recognised brand with strong growth ambitions in the data centre sector and established links with major technology clients.
Role overview
In this position, you will take overall responsibility for driving delivery of a hyperscale data centre in Finland, combining technical leadership, commercial judgement, innovation, and the ability to capture and share project knowledge effectively.
What you will do
- Lead and coordinate the multidisciplinary site team.
- Provide full support to the client whenever needed.
- Oversee and manage contractors working on site.
- Take ownership of budget control and financial management.
- Ensure the project reaches full completion before occupancy starts.
Qualifications and experience
A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification, is required in a relevant subject. The ideal candidate will also have achieved, or be close to achieving, a relevant professional certification or chartered status.
Suitable applicants should bring contractor-facing experience, a track record of managing and integrating internal and external design management resources, and previous Employer’s Agent or Owners’ Representative experience. A consultancy background is preferred.
The role also calls for at least 5 years of post-qualification experience on complex construction projects such as hospitals, pharmaceutical plants, and data centres, along with experience managing major projects valued between €300 million and €500 million.
