STARK UK is a premier building materials distributor across Northern Europe, seeking a Project Estimator to join its Estimation team. We foster a vibrant community driven by decency, passion, and pride, committed to a dynamic workplace where individuals can thrive and reach their full potential. If you seek an environment where your ideas are celebrated, STARK UK is your home.

This role is ideal for an experienced builder looking to transition from site work to a home-based position, or for someone currently working in a builder's merchant branch who wishes to leverage their costing and building knowledge.

This is a home-based role with occasional travel required.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage estimating for a variety of projects including extensions, renovations, loft conversions, standard new builds, and barn conversions.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships through effective collaboration with customers, the service team, sales teams, and local branches.
  • Engage with external suppliers to secure technical support and ensure estimate accuracy.
  • Provide prompt and effective responses to on-site technical queries, assisting with issue resolution and updating estimates, build reports, and processes.
  • Efficiently handle administrative tasks and queries related to estimating, amendments, and material scheduling with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Generate estimates and pricing proposals using internal Core pricing programs, Raptor & Planswift, with full training provided.

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in estimating for extensions, renovations, loft conversions, standard new builds, and barn conversions.
  • Fundamental understanding of Build Regulations.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and structural specifications.
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Access, Word, Excel).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external interactions.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong organizational skills and the capacity to manage one's own workload effectively.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Discretionary Bonus
  • Retirement Savings Plan
  • Life Assurance
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave
  • Voluntary benefits including holiday buying, discounted gym membership, car salary sacrifice, Cycle2Work, and Benenden Healthcare.
  • Access to comprehensive health and wellbeing services, including online GP appointments and mental health support.
  • WorkPerks platform offering discounts on high street and online purchases.
