Role overview
EM3 is looking for an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of the successful delivery of complex mechanical, electrical, and energy infrastructure initiatives within industrial settings. The position requires someone highly organised, technically confident, and able to coordinate multidisciplinary teams while keeping work safe, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with quality expectations. The role covers the complete project journey, from early scoping and design through procurement, construction, commissioning, and final handover, supporting EM3’s aim of delivering measurable energy performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Direct the delivery of multiple energy efficiency and decarbonisation projects across industrial facilities.
- Manage each stage of the project lifecycle, including planning, purchasing, installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Keep delivery on track against approved scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, vendors, and internal engineering colleagues.
- Run regular project meetings and provide progress updates and status reports to senior stakeholders.
- Create and maintain detailed schedules and resource plans, including use of MS Dynamics where required.
- Coordinate teams and specialists across disciplines to keep execution aligned.
- Build project budgets, monitor spend, handle change orders, and maintain financial control throughout delivery.
- Partner with finance to oversee cash flow, invoicing, and project margin performance.
- Ensure adherence to safety rules, environmental requirements, and client-specific procedures.
- Lead quality control activities, including commissioning validation processes.
- Spot risks early and apply practical mitigation actions.
- Maintain current risk logs and contingency plans.
- Produce and keep accurate records such as Gantt charts, meeting notes, safety documentation, and technical reports.
- Prepare dashboards and executive-level summaries for internal and client audiences.
Requirements
- Strong background in planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery of technical or engineering projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex programmes involving several contractors, technologies, and stakeholders.
- Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems in industrial or utility-scale environments.
- Hands-on experience with energy efficiency, decarbonisation, or utility infrastructure projects such as steam systems, CHP, compressed air, cooling, or renewables.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with strong collaboration skills across multiple functions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present technical information to senior leaders and clients.
- Understanding of construction HSE requirements, including risk assessments, method statements, and site safety coordination.
- Experience selecting contractors, managing vendors, and administering contract frameworks such as NEC, FIDIC, or similar bespoke terms.
- Ability to solve technical and logistical issues quickly while staying practical and compliant.
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of project management experience in energy, industrial, utilities, or capital project settings.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or a similar certification is preferred.
- Solid understanding of sustainability, energy systems, and decarbonisation technologies.
- Exposure to industrial clients in Food & Beverage, Pharmaceutical, Medical Devices, or Data Centre sectors is highly beneficial.
- Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites as needed.

Additional information
Location: Limerick, Ireland, with a hybrid working pattern. The role may be offered as permanent or contract/consultant employment. The position reports to the Service Delivery Line Lead and sits within the energy management solutions space for industrial manufacturing. Salary
The advertised salary range is €60,774 to €91,162.
