Role Overview
Catalyx operates across North America and Europe, delivering automated and serviced operational processes for R&D, production, packaging, and distribution. The organisation supports regulated and high-risk industries, with a strong focus on life sciences and other compliance-driven sectors, and continues to build local teams that help customers improve performance.
The Project Manager owns a project from the earliest requirement discussions and quoting stage through execution, delivery, and final closeout. This position is central to customer relationship management and is expected to safeguard customer satisfaction by balancing quality, timing, and cost while maintaining clear, credible communication and helping customers choose practical solutions and scope changes. The role also calls for proactive planning, issue prevention, and continuous improvement.
Customer Management
- Act as the bridge between the customer, external suppliers and partners, and the project delivery team.
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact for all project-related matters.
- Coordinate the activities needed to progress the sale and deliver the project.
- Ensure project work follows Crest Solutions and Antares Vision process standards.
Sales and Requirement Definition
- Shape and refine the project requirements specification during commercial discussions.
- Support customers in selecting solutions that align with business goals, and assess gaps between customer expectations and Antares products.
- Review project documentation, URS, NDA material, and customer samples with architect support to fully understand the scope.
- Meet customers on site during the sales stage to gather, confirm, and agree requirements.
- Occasionally take quotation requests from pre-costing through to customer issue.
Project Initiation and Planning
- Hold the formal handover meeting with the KAM after order confirmation.
- Run alignment discussions with the customer PM and/or key team members.
- Lead the formal kick-off meeting with Planning, Architecture, Sales, Quality, R&D, and other relevant departments.
- Create the project schedule in Leanplan, assigning tasks, resources, and timing with the Engineering Manager and planning team.
- Set risk factors, prioritise key activities, and build contingency into the plan.
- Negotiate the first SAT date with the customer and arrange a meeting to present the plan.
- Own the project P&L.
- Schedule and coordinate project meetings in line with company policy so the team stays aligned on objectives.
- Manage changes and new requirements through JPMO procedures in a commercially sound manner.
- Identify improvements that better support customers and employees, and apply lessons learned to strengthen processes and solutions.
Project Execution and Delivery
- Coordinate external partners and suppliers involved in the project.
- Provide customer progress updates and planned activities in line with the PEP and delivery milestones.
- Keep project documentation and milestones current and compliant with agreed procedures.
- Escalate critical or complex issues through a Steering Committee meeting with the PMO Manager when needed.
- Oversee testing and ensure all FAT supporting documentation is prepared.
- Organise the FAT so internal information reaches the Service team on time and within budget.
- Complete FAT and SAT punch lists, obtain customer sign-off, and resolve non-conformities and changes with internal and external teams.
- Confirm customer lines are ready for SAT and installation.
- Coordinate machine shipping with Back Office support.
- Ensure SAT documents are shared with the customer and properly signed.
- Track progress across departments and provide feedback when deadlines are met or missed.
- Manage technical issues affecting the plan, working with KAM and Architects to communicate revised timing and costs.
- Monitor project costs, including contractor and internal labour hours.
- Maintain strong communication with the field Service team to support project success.
- Guide customers through changes during execution to identify the most beneficial and cost-effective solution, involving KAM when new pricing is needed.
- Verify new timings when deviations or modifications affect the final installation.
- Transfer all relevant product, customer, and context information to After Sales once the project is handed over.
Project Closure and Continuous Improvement
- Run lessons-learned workshops and share outcomes with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Collect customer feedback and evaluate satisfaction.
- Complete documentation cleanup and close all project accounts.
