Job description
Role Overview
The QHSE Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing plant-level health, safety, and environmental performance at the Taif site. The role focuses on ensuring safe operations, strengthening compliance, and supporting continuous improvement across quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day plant operations with a strong emphasis on meeting HSE targets and standards.
- Implement HSE policies consistently and guide both site employees and contractors on safe work practices.
- Log workplace injuries, prepare incident reports, and coordinate with the Occupational Health Team on care following accidents.
- Deliver HSE awareness and training sessions, promote permit-to-work controls, and flag unsafe or non-compliant behaviors.
- Carry out HSE audits, investigate incidents, and document findings together with corrective recommendations.
- Inspect HSE safeguards, first aid resources, and firefighting equipment on a routine basis.
- Track environmental non-conformities, ensure corrective actions are taken, and monitor waste handling and emissions control.
- Organize and evaluate emergency response drills, while keeping licenses and related compliance documents current.
- Provide safety induction for all visitors and contractors before site access.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Between 5 and 7 years of experience in HSSE roles within the Utilities or Energy sector, with sewage treatment experience preferred.
- Hands-on knowledge of Quality Management Systems, Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems, and Environmental Management Systems.
- Good understanding of applicable legal requirements, hazard and environmental aspect-impact assessments, and incident investigation methods.
- Practical familiarity with firefighting, emergency preparedness, waste management, and emissions monitoring.
- Strong English communication ability, solid MS Office skills, and working knowledge of PPE, first aid, spill containment, and HCIS requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.
- ISO and OSHAA certification are mandatory; NEBOSH certification will be considered an advantage.
