Quality Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking a diligent Quality Engineer to join their team in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This role is crucial for ensuring that all construction activities adhere to the highest quality standards and project specifications. The engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing quality control plans, managing documentation, and coordinating with various stakeholders to maintain project integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and review quality plans, method statements, and inspection and test plans (ITPs) in alignment with project specifications and relevant Indian Standards (IS codes).
• Oversee the establishment and preparation of design mixes for site execution.
• Maintain comprehensive records for the site Quality Department, including drawing registers and checklists.
• Thoroughly study and understand the specifications for all work items.
• Ensure that construction activities are executed using appropriate methodologies and following established instructions.
• Manage materials effectively to maintain quality standards.
• Conduct scheduled supervision of work on-site.
• Handle all reporting and documentation, including the control of documents.
• Facilitate coordination between the client, contractor, site team, and consultants.
• Inspect incoming materials to verify MTC availability and arrange for qualification tests as per ITPs and method statements.
• Perform process quality checks for various construction activities.
• Implement and manage ITPs and method statements at the project site.
• Deliver quality toolbox talks and lead weekly site meetings to guide engineers and workmen in achieving desired quality and improving construction workmanship.
• Ensure the use of approved materials on-site and maintain proper documentation for traceability of quality checks.
• Identify non-conformities (violations of ITP and SOP) and coordinate with the site team for timely resolution.
• Inspect and review calibration certificates for site equipment, ensuring all instruments in use are calibrated and their status is up-to-date.
• Conduct sampling and visual checks on concrete, shotcrete, and cement grout.
