Role overview

The Quality Invigilator is responsible for observing live and online examinations conducted for schools, clients and other organizations, while maintaining strict exam integrity. The role requires careful identity checks, eligibility validation, and close monitoring of the testing environment to ensure all rules and organizational standards are followed.

This position involves supervising exam sessions, identifying suspicious behavior, recording issues accurately, and escalating concerns when needed. The role is essential to the wider ETS team and operates in a 24/7 environment, so rotational shifts are required. One-way cab support is provided during off-hours only.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee live exam sessions for candidates from different schools, clients and organizations.
  • Detect irregular activity or suspected cheating during assessments.
  • Record policy violations with precise timestamps.
  • Check test-taker identity and details through visual verification.
  • Update, correct, or add violation notes when required.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with managers and other stakeholders.
  • Escalate urgent or high-priority issues appropriately.
  • Follow ethical standards and comply with all laws and regulations relevant to the role.

Skills and work style

  • Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to stay focused for long periods.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and common communication tools.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare professional, concise and grammatically correct correspondence.

  • Capability to juggle multiple tasks while staying organized in a fast-paced setting.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in non-voice online proctoring, or prior BPO experience.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification.
  • Ability to work rotational shifts in a 24/7 operating environment.
