About the Role

RROX Aggregates Ltd., an affiliate of Park Paving Ltd., is seeking a dedicated Labourer for its rail transload facility in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This seasonal position involves working with rail-car movers, skid steers, and loaders. The role offers a competitive compensation package and benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading gravel and other aggregates from rail-cars and managing stockpiles.
  • Operating various heavy equipment, including skid steers, front-end loaders, and stacking conveyors.
  • Conducting thorough inspections of rail cars, with a focus on hopper cars.
  • Installing necessary securement devices.
  • Managing the unloading of aggregates through conveyor belt systems.
  • Performing general maintenance on railcars and conveyor systems.
  • Ensuring site cleanliness through housekeeping and snow removal duties.
  • Operating skid steer machinery.

Requirements

  • Experience with rail cars is advantageous, though comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as skid steers, front-end loaders, and stacking conveyors is beneficial; training is available.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license is required.
  • Candidates must possess a driving record free of major infractions.
  • Successful completion of a medical and fitness examination is a condition of employment.
  • Must be able to thrive in a physically demanding, high-pressure, and productive work setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with operators and crew members.
