Job description

Role overview

LAH Property Marketing is seeking a proactive, service-led Receptionist to support the daily running of a modern building in the Cowley area of Oxford. The role is based within a high-quality flexible workspace that also serves as a central hub for the Campus community.

You will be responsible for ensuring the building operates smoothly each day, delivering a strong customer experience, and helping make the best possible use of space for meetings and events. The position also includes supporting community activity by keeping website and app content up to date so people across campus know what is happening.

Hours and pay

This is a full-time role with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. The salary is £27,560 per year.

Reception duties

  • Oversee the daily operation of the front-of-house area and maintain a professional working environment.
  • Serve as the first point of contact on site, welcoming visitors and providing a friendly, customer-first experience.
  • Develop positive working relationships with tenants, understand their needs, and share useful feedback with the Community Manager, Asset Director, and wider team.
  • Carry out routine checks and follow up on issues linked to maintenance, cleaning, and health and safety.
  • Manage everyday administration such as purchase orders, invoices, supplies, and data entry.
  • Work in line with company procedures, visitor processes, data protection rules, and health and safety requirements.

Building management

  • Administer all meeting room bookings through the app or booking system, resolving conflicts and keeping records accurate.
  • Coordinate room and event setups, including furniture placement, room layouts, and signage.
  • Keep clear usage records and prepare reports on bookings, occupancy, and feedback.
  • Handle additional admin tasks such as raising purchase orders, recording invoices, ordering supplies, and completing straightforward data entry.

Community and events support

  • Assist the Community Manager on event days with setup, registrations, guest support, and basic event logistics.
  • Support digital marketing and communications work, including creating simple marketing content in Canva; training will be provided.
  • Update and maintain approved content on the website and app, including events, news, and building information.

Skills and experience

  • Strong organisational ability, a hands-on approach, and confidence working in a busy professional setting.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and assured manner.
  • Ability to manage multiple bookings, tasks, and deadlines effectively.
  • Comfort using booking platforms, Microsoft Office, and digital systems, or a willingness to learn.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and an enjoyment of working collaboratively.
  • Previous experience in front-of-house, serviced office, coworking, hospitality, or facilities coordination roles is beneficial.

Benefits

  • Contributory pension scheme and life assurance.
  • 24/7 virtual GP access for you and your family.
  • Wellbeing support, including a digital gym, nutrition planning, and a wellbeing podcast.
  • Financial and legal information support.
  • Access to discounts and deals with multiple businesses.
  • Referral programme.
  • Access to the LAH training academy.
