Role overview
Wellways Australia is seeking a Recovery Worker to join its Community Living Support (CLS) team in Lithgow, New South Wales. This is a community-based role focused on helping people living with significant mental health challenges work towards their recovery, strengthen everyday living skills, and grow their independence.
CLS is a NSW Government-funded program that offers tailored, person-centred psychosocial support for people aged 16 and over. The work is grounded in recovery-oriented practice and aims to help participants build capability, confidence, social connection, and progress toward personal goals.
The position offers SCHADS Level 3 pay at $38.65 per hour, plus salary packaging and leave loading.
What you will do
- Work alongside participants to identify and pursue recovery goals and personal aspirations.
- Deliver practical, strengths-based assistance that supports independence, wellbeing, and self-management.
- Help participants strengthen links with family, community, and informal support networks.
- Prepare recovery plans, assessments, case notes, and other program records.
- Work with internal colleagues and external stakeholders to provide coordinated support.
- Travel throughout the region to meet participant needs.

Requirements
- Completed Certificate IV in Mental Health, Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, or Certificate IV in Community Services, or current enrolment and active progress toward one of these qualifications.
- Ability to provide 100 points of identification and evidence of the right to work in Australia.
- Current driver’s licence.
- National Police Check.
- International Police Check if required.
- Working with Children Check and NDIS Workers Screening Check.
- Completion of the NDIS Workers Orientation Modules, which are available free online.
