Role Overview
The Governing Council of Koforidua Technical University is seeking qualified and capable applicants for the office of Registrar, a role that became vacant on 1 August 2019.
The Registrar serves as the Chief Operating Officer under the Vice Chancellor, overseeing the university’s day-to-day administration. This role also includes acting as Secretary to the Council as well as to all boards and statutory committees of the university. In addition, the Registrar provides strategic counsel and briefings to the Vice Chancellor and leads a broad range of administrative functions across the institution.
Terms of Appointment
The appointment is for a period of four years. Reappointment for one further term is possible, provided the extended term does not go beyond the compulsory retirement age. The salary and accompanying conditions for the post are described as highly attractive.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold at least a master’s degree, ideally in administration, management, or a closely related field. They must also have at least six years of experience serving as a Deputy Registrar in a university or in an equivalent position within a similar institution or organization.
Additional Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate strong managerial, communication, and interpersonal abilities. A sound understanding of Ghana’s higher education environment is essential, along with a proven commitment to public morality and integrity. Experience working with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups is important, and applicants should possess a good working knowledge of information and communication technology.
