Job description

Overview

Ortus Health delivers remote medical coding, pharmacy support, and GP triage services to NHS GP practices throughout the UK. The business is hiring a Remote Care Coordinator & Administrator to help manage its remote triage workflow across partner practices.

This is a hands-on coordination role focused on keeping patient triage moving efficiently between practices and the clinical team. You will track triage tickets, make sure they are logged correctly, direct them to the right GP, and ensure patients receive and complete the questionnaires required before clinical review.

The position is fully remote, full-time, and all equipment is provided. The company also supports career growth and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Keep an eye on incoming triage ticket volumes across supported GP practices and make sure each item is handled within the agreed timeline.
  • Enter and maintain accurate triage and patient information in clinical systems such as EMIS, SystmOne, and Docman.
  • Send tickets to the most appropriate GP and update assignments when needed.
  • Distribute patient questionnaires, follow up on completion, and confirm they are ready for GP review.
  • Maintain precise records and documentation in line with information governance requirements.
  • Support the wider Ortus services with general administrative work.
  • Work closely with practice teams and internal clinicians to keep processes running well and raise concerns early.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working in a GP practice is required.
  • Practical experience using clinical systems is necessary.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to handle a busy workload accurately while working remotely.
  • Clear written and spoken communication skills for interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Comfortable using computers and standard office software.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with the ability to contribute effectively in a remote team.
  • A calm, highly accurate, and detail-oriented approach is important to prevent tasks from being missed.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to pass an enhanced DBS check, which will be arranged by the employer.
  • Completion of data security and information governance training, which will be provided.
  • A private and secure home working space.

Benefits

  • Hourly pay of £13.
  • 28 days of paid holiday per year, bank holidays included.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • All necessary equipment supplied.
  • Opportunity to develop and progress within a dynamic and fast-moving business.

Working arrangement

This is a full-time remote role. The service operates from 08:00 to 18:30, with shifts available from 08:00 to 15:00 or 10:30 to 18:30.

Additional information

As an NHS supplier that handles patient-identifiable data, the role involves working to strict security and confidentiality standards. Training and compliance support will be provided as part of the onboarding process.
