Research Intern

About the Team

Sea Group is looking for research interns to join Sea AI Lab (SAIL) in Singapore. SAIL works across both foundational and applied artificial intelligence research, spanning areas such as deep learning, reinforcement learning, computer vision, and natural language processing. As an intern, you will have the chance to contribute to core algorithmic work and help shape major research efforts at the lab. The internship runs for a minimum of 6 months.

The team is seeking candidates who are genuinely excited about improving the understanding of intelligence and who are motivated by bold, high-impact advances in AI.

Job Description

• Work on fundamental AI research problems, including learning from data across different formats such as images, video, text, audio, and bio-data, whether labelled or unlabelled.
• Explore research in decision-making for complex real-world settings, neuroscience-inspired AI, trustworthy AI, and theoretical aspects of artificial intelligence.
• Partner with the team on large-scale initiatives that have been identified as strategic priorities for SAIL.

Requirements

• You are currently pursuing, or have already obtained, a PhD in computer science or a closely related discipline.
• You must be able to secure work authorization in the country of employment at the time you are hired and keep that authorization valid throughout the engagement.
• You should have publication history or practical experience in machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision, optimization, or data science.
• You should be comfortable using both theoretical and empirical methods to address research challenges.
• You need to communicate complex research clearly, accurately, and in a way that can guide action.
• You should have experience building experiments and systems using deep learning techniques.
• You should know at least one differentiable programming framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.

Additional Information

This internship has a minimum duration of 6 months. The role is based in Singapore, Singapore and is onsite. No stipend or salary amount was provided.
