Researcher

About the Role

The Researcher will shape and support interdisciplinary learning experiences and knowledge resources within the Foundation. This position plays a key role in building internal understanding of the Biennial, the SAF Collection, and temporary exhibitions, and contributes to a range of Learning and Research outputs such as publications, conferences, and workshops.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out original research and review existing sources as needed for each project.
• Own the assessment, expansion, and ongoing improvement of on-site education and publication initiatives.
• Plan and oversee budgets for assigned projects.
• Organize and coordinate learning-related activities, including publications, workshops, and meet-ups.
• Develop assets for archiving and digitisation.
• Build and refine research and archive tools, resources, and working methods for the Foundation.
• Prepare internal and external reports and presentations tailored to specific programmes.
• Support off-site educational work, including outreach activities.
• Produce engaging learning materials for both internal teams and the wider community.

Experience and Skills

• Background in a comparable position within a museum, education, or creative environment.
• Strong analytical thinking and practical problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work well with others, maintain a professional approach, and take ownership of projects.
• Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Capacity to think independently, propose original ideas, and respond constructively to feedback and collaboration.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time onsite role in Sharjah. Standard working hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Thursday, with occasional evening or weekend availability required.
