Role Overview

Kilkenny River Court Hotel is hiring a full-time Reservations Agent to join its team in Kilkenny, County Kilkenny, Ireland. The property is a 4-star city-centre hotel close to the main shopping district, theatres, entertainment venues, tourist attractions, the Medieval Mile, and Kilkenny Castle.

The hotel is part of the Neville Hotel group, a family-run Irish hotel collection with six well-known properties: Royal Marine Hotel in Dun Laoghaire, Druids Glen Hotel & Golf Resort in Wicklow, Kilkenny River Court Hotel, Tower Hotel & Leisure Centre in Waterford City, Ravenport Resort in Wexford, and Whites of Wexford.

What the Role Involves

  • Handle incoming calls and emails from guests, corporate customers, tour operators, and travel agents in a timely, efficient, and professional way.
  • Answer telephone calls in line with the company’s service standards.
  • Stay alert to guest needs and aim to exceed expectations in every interaction.
  • Complete the required departmental checklist each day.
  • Enter group rooming lists accurately into the system.
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the department and in other teams.
  • Work to turn enquiries into confirmed bookings and pass promising business opportunities to the Sales team.

Candidate Profile

The right person will be confident, well organised, highly attentive to detail, and strong in guest service. A flexible approach is essential because the role requires midweek and weekend shifts.

Experience and Skills Needed

  • Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory.
  • At least 6 months of reservations or reception experience in a 4-star hotel is required.
  • Strong customer care abilities are important.
  • You should be able to plan, prioritise, and stay organised.
  • Experience using the Hotsoft Office System would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with third-party booking websites is also desirable.
