Role Overview

The store team is looking for a motivated Retail Consultant to help deliver a high-quality in-store experience. The position centres on personalised customer service, understanding customer needs, suggesting suitable products, and contributing to store sales targets and KPIs such as conversion, customer service score, and average transaction value.

Key Duties

  • Identify what each customer is looking for and recommend products that fit those needs.
  • Stay current on product details so features and benefits can be explained accurately.
  • Use upselling and cross-selling opportunities appropriately, including sharing relevant promotions and offers.
  • Provide consistently strong customer service across every interaction.
  • Represent the company’s values during day-to-day customer engagement.
  • Maintain store presentation in line with visual merchandising standards.
  • Handle customer issues promptly, or escalate them when needed.

Skills and Experience

The ideal person enjoys retail and understands how to guide customers through their buying journey. They should be confident working as part of a team, motivated by sales goals, and comfortable turning a customer’s ideas into a finished solution.

Success in this role calls for strong communication, computer literacy, the ability to manage both customer-facing and administrative tasks, and a real interest in home styling, furniture, or creating warm living spaces.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ retail experience, ideally in home or lifestyle products.
  • Ability to connect with customers and help bring their home vision to life.
  • Confident sales mindset with the drive to meet and exceed targets.
  • Strong communication skills and good computer skills.
  • Capacity to balance customer service with administrative work.
  • Interest in home styling, furniture, or interior presentation is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work in a values-led environment and contribute positively to the team culture.
  • Ability to safely perform regular manual handling, including lifting, carrying, and moving items of different sizes as part of daily store operations.
  • Must be an Australian citizen, Australian resident, or already hold valid work rights and a current visa for Australia.

Additional Information

As this role involves furniture retail, regular physical handling is a standard part of the job. Applicants should be prepared to manage products of varying sizes safely during day-to-day duties.
