Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Jubail is for a Rigger who will handle the safe preparation, inspection, and use of lifting and rigging tools such as slings, shackles, wire ropes, and lifting beams. The job involves reviewing load charts and lifting plans, choosing the right rigging hardware for each lift, fastening and securing loads, and assisting crane or lifting equipment operators throughout lifting activities.

Key Duties

  • Perform pre-use inspections on rigging gear and lifting accessories before work begins.
  • Select suitable rigging equipment based on the load, lift plan, and site requirements.
  • Attach, secure, and manage loads safely during lifting operations.
  • Direct and communicate with crane or lifting equipment operators during lifts.
  • Spot unsafe conditions, defective gear, or hazards and escalate them promptly.
  • Follow company procedures, site rules, and all applicable lifting and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, crane operators, and other crew members to complete lifts efficiently.
  • Support construction and maintenance tasks while keeping the work area tidy and well-organized.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience working as a Rigger in industrial, construction, or oil and gas settings, with strong knowledge of rigging and lifting practices.
  • Ability to understand lifting plans, load charts, drawings, and basic technical documentation connected to rigging work.
  • Good knowledge of rigging equipment, including how to choose, inspect, use, and store slings, shackles, hooks, wire ropes, and other lifting accessories correctly.
  • Safety-focused mindset with familiarity in permit-to-work processes, risk assessment practices, and lifting-related rules and regulations.
  • Physically capable of working at heights, in confined areas, and in changing outdoor site conditions.
  • Strong communication and teamwork ability for working with crane operators, supervisors, and a multicultural workforce.
  • Rigging certification or formal training from a recognized institution or authority is required; additional lifting or safety certifications are beneficial.
  • Experience on large industrial or petrochemical projects in the Gulf region is preferred, though not essential.
