About the Property
Peppers Blue on Blue Resort is based on Magnetic Island, around 25 minutes by ferry from Townsville. Set with views over the Coral Sea, the property features a variety of guest rooms, suites, and one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. It also offers a large lagoon-style pool and an on-site restaurant and bar, Boardwalk Restaurant & Bar, which is popular with both island visitors and locals. On days away from work, the island and nearby region offer plenty to do, including hiking, cycling, fishing, and exploring or diving the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Role Purpose
In this housekeeping role, you will help create an excellent guest experience by keeping rooms spotless and ensuring every detail is handled with care. The position also involves working closely with the wider team and supporting guests when needed. Your contribution will help deliver memorable stays and the kind of service guests remember.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean guest rooms thoroughly, including replacing linen, sanitising bathrooms, and wiping surfaces so each room is presented to a high standard.
- Follow established housekeeping procedures and quality expectations at all times.
- Keep housekeeping trolleys stocked, tidy, and ready for use.
- Handle cleaning products safely and comply with workplace safety requirements.
- Protect guest privacy and maintain security while carrying out duties.
- Identify and report maintenance concerns quickly so issues can be addressed without delay.
Experience and Skills
- Prior work as a cleaner or room attendant would be an advantage.
- Strong, friendly communication skills with a welcoming manner toward guests and colleagues.
- Good attention to detail, efficient work habits, and the ability to manage time well.
- Comfort with a physically active role, including moving between rooms using internal and external stairs and open walkways.
- Enjoys working collaboratively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must have reliable transport and be available for varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
