Job DescriptionWe are seeking a Safety Officer to join the luxury hospitality environment at Raffles & Fairmont Doha. This vital role involves upholding the highest standards of safety, security, and well-being across both properties, ensuring a secure and compliant environment that aligns with the elegance and service excellence of the Raffles and Fairmont brands. The Safety Officer will act as a guardian of guest and colleague safety, conducting regular inspections, monitoring safety systems, and ensuring adherence to all health, safety, and security protocols. Prompt and professional response to incidents and emergencies, along with effective coordination with relevant teams and authorities, is crucial. The role requires vigilance, attention to detail, and a calm demeanor to contribute to seamless and safe guest experiences. Responsibilities include supporting risk prevention, promoting safety awareness, and ensuring procedures align with luxury hospitality standards, all while embodying the refined professionalism of Raffles and Fairmont.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular safety inspections across all hotel areas to ensure compliance with Raffles & Fairmont safety, security, and fire prevention standards.
- Monitor and enforce adherence to health, safety, security policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, and hazards, ensuring appropriate escalation and accurate reporting.
- Provide professional safety guidance and support to guests and colleagues through various communication channels.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of hotel facilities, operational areas, emergency exits, evacuation procedures, and local safety regulations.
- Coordinate closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other departments to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Support risk mitigation by identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of incidents, safety audits, and compliance checks.
- Assist in managing emergency preparedness procedures, including drills, evacuations, and colleague training.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all incident reports, guest information, and safety matters.
- Support investigations related to safety or security incidents, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
- Contribute to a proactive safety culture by promoting awareness and best practices across all departments.
- Uphold luxury standards by ensuring safety operations are delivered with professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a Safety, Security, Loss Prevention, or similar operational role within a luxury hotel environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of hotel safety, security, and fire prevention procedures, with a commitment to high compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.
- Strong interpersonal skills for confident and professional engagement with guests and colleagues.
- Ability to remain calm, observant, and decisive during incidents or emergencies.
- Strong attention to detail for proactive identification of risks, hazards, and non-compliance.
- Basic proficiency in hotel systems and reporting tools, including incident reporting and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team and support cross-departmental coordination.
- Physical fitness for duties including prolonged standing and site inspections.
