About the role

Wolseley is a specialist trade merchant operating across the UK and Ireland, with a strong focus on its people and customers. This Sales Assistant opportunity is based in Lincoln at Plumb Centre and offers a permanent full-time position with scope to grow your career through the Wolseley Talent Guild.

Compensation and benefits

The role pays £26,695 per year, plus bonus and a strong benefits package. Key responsibilities

You will handle a mixed customer-facing and warehouse-based role. This includes supporting customers at the trade counter by identifying their needs, suggesting suitable products, and preparing quotations, as well as carrying out 3.5T delivery work to customers.

You will also build strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business, improve the customer experience, and increase long-term account value. In addition, you will answer customer questions by phone and email, provide timely and polite quotations, and take care of general warehouse tasks such as booking stock into the system, putting stock away, and picking and packing orders.

Working pattern

This is a 40-hour per week permanent role. Standard hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, with Saturday working on a rota from 8:00am to 12:00pm. Saturday hours are paid as overtime.

Candidate profile

The ideal candidate will already have experience in face-to-face sales and customer service. You should be happy to work as part of a team and support different parts of the branch to keep operations running smoothly. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic are also important. A full UK manual driving licence is required; prior driving experience is not essential.
