Pay and working pattern

The starting pay is £13.52 per hour, which equates to £26,363 per year, and rises to £13.69 per hour once training is completed. This rate includes London Weighting Allowance. The role is full time at 37.5 hours per week. You must be available with complete flexibility across Monday to Sunday. There is also the chance to earn up to £2,000 in discretionary annual bonuses, linked to performance against key KPIs.

What the role involves

As the public-facing member of the store team, you will welcome customers, understand what they need, and guide them towards the most suitable outcome. You will support a variety of services across pawnbroking, retail sales, and financial products, while helping the store run smoothly and maintain strong compliance and presentation standards.

No previous pawnbroking background is required. What matters most is an interest in people, personal integrity, and a willingness to learn. Full training and ongoing support are provided so you can build confidence and perform well in a busy, changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide a consistently friendly and professional customer experience.
• Support customers with pawnbroking, retail purchases, and financial services.
• Keep compliance standards high and ensure the store remains well presented.
• Work closely with colleagues to help the team achieve and exceed targets.
• Process transactions with accuracy and care.
• Use additional languages where possible, as multilingual ability is highly appreciated but not mandatory.
