Role Overview

The Sales Assistant is responsible for supporting store sales performance while creating a positive customer experience. The role includes a mix of operational support and customer-facing service, with an emphasis on keeping the store visually appealing, orderly, and aligned with brand standards. Success in this position depends on delivering warm, knowledgeable interactions, maintaining a welcoming store atmosphere, and contributing to the store’s day-to-day operational objectives.

Key Duties

  • Keep the store clean, well arranged, and consistently aligned with the company’s presentation standards.
  • Create a strong first impression through a cheerful attitude and proper adherence to the dress code.
  • Welcome customers promptly on entry with a friendly smile and courteous greeting.
  • Share current and accurate product information to help customers make informed choices.
  • Support fitting room service, follow up with customers quickly, and help maintain an orderly cash wrap area while looking for opportunities to drive sales.
  • Handle checkout duties efficiently, promote gift cards where appropriate, keep the cash area tidy, and capture customer details in the database.
  • Thank customers as they leave and encourage them to come back again.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have strong customer service skills, clear communication ability, and the discipline to keep the store organized and clean. Comfort with sales transactions and basic database handling is also important. A high school qualification is required, along with 1 to 2 years of retail sales experience. Candidates should be able to communicate well verbally, perform some heavy lifting, and remain on their feet for at least 8 hours.
