Job description

Role Overview

The Sales Associate serves as a front-line representative of the brand, driving revenue growth while creating a positive in-store experience for customers. The position includes maintaining store presentation, supporting visual merchandising efforts, and handling day-to-day retail tasks as directed by the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.

Customer Engagement

  • Welcome shoppers and help them choose items that best suit their needs.
  • Turn casual browsers into buyers through active and timely interaction.
  • Encourage enrollment in the company loyalty program to support repeat purchases.
  • Deliver service aligned with the GUEST approach: Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, Thank.
  • Build product and brand knowledge across the group to support recommendations and add-on sales.
  • Explain product features, benefits, fabric/material details, and care guidance to customers.

Professional Presentation and Product Knowledge

  • Maintain a polished, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
  • Remain available for longer shifts during busy sales periods when required.
  • Continuously refresh product knowledge to support accurate guidance and reduce stock loss.

Merchandising and Inventory

  • Arrange merchandise neatly and attractively in line with store layout requirements.
  • Follow visual merchandising instructions and stock handling procedures, particularly for discounted or clearance items.
  • Track incoming and outgoing inventory carefully and keep records accurate.
  • Use upselling and cross-selling techniques to improve sales performance.
  • Stay familiar with stock availability and promotions to support customer conversations.

Billing, Cash Handling, and Store Control

  • Operate the POS system efficiently for billing and other transaction needs.
  • Count and reconcile the cash drawer at both the beginning and end of the shift.
  • Process customer payments accurately using cash, cards, vouchers, or automated debit methods.
  • Provide receipts, refunds, and exact change as needed.
  • Remain alert to store security concerns and comply with all loss prevention rules.
  • Restock and rearrange merchandise on the sales floor to keep products available for customers.

Qualification and Fit

A bachelor’s degree is preferred for this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important for creating a welcoming customer experience, and prior experience in a sales position is an added advantage.
