L&T Construction & Mining Machinery is a business unit of Larsen & Toubro Group, one of India’s major engineering conglomerates. The company works with global partner Komatsu-Japan to deliver equipment designed to meet international standards for quality, safety, and reliability.
Role Overview
This role is for a technical sales professional who will act as an important contact point for customers. The position involves supporting clients before and after the sale, handling the complete sales journey, growing business through new customer acquisition, and strengthening long-term customer relationships. The selected person will combine product knowledge with selling skills to advise customers on LTCEL and Komatsu offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify potential leads in assigned regions and target customers who can benefit from the company’s products or services.
- Build and sustain long-term client relationships by understanding, tracking, and interpreting customer needs.
- Demonstrate how the company’s products or services meet customer expectations on quality, pricing, and delivery.
- Discuss and finalize contract terms in a way that works for both the customer and the company.
- Regularly visit existing customers, competitor customers, and financiers to close Komatsu and LTCEL products in line with company SOPs.
- Support dealer sales engineers in product closure and provide the required product assistance.
- Collect machine performance reports and customer feedback on a regular basis.
- Work toward achieving quarterly budgeted equipment sales targets.
- Identify important customers in the territory and coordinate sales, service, parts, and training activities to strengthen the relationship.
Education and Experience
A Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required, along with 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in selling construction equipment such as excavators, compactors, loaders, and similar machinery.
Skills and Attributes
- Sound technical understanding of the company’s products
- Ability to build durable relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, Hindi, and Marathi
- Confident, outgoing personality with attention to detail, persistence, and stamina
- Good negotiation ability
- Teamwork and organizational capability
