Job description

Role overview

Stellar Recruitment’s client is a recognised innovator in stormwater management, creating award-winning solutions since 1996 to help control runoff and lessen environmental impact. With ambitions to become a global name in stormwater and green infrastructure, the business is growing its reach across New Zealand and overseas and is looking for an Auckland-based Sales Lead to support that expansion.

This is a field-based position in Auckland, reporting to the National Sales Manager. The role is suited to someone who can combine commercial drive with technical confidence, strong stakeholder relationships, and disciplined sales execution.

What you will do

You will be responsible for generating new business and growing specification-led sales across the Auckland territory. The role involves working with a wide mix of stakeholders, including contractors, consultants, council representatives, developers, engineers, and designers, with the goal of turning opportunities into profitable business outcomes.

  • Identify, approach, and develop new customers, untapped markets, and growth opportunities within the region
  • Make regular customer visits and deliver product and technical presentations to key decision-makers and influencers
  • Build strong relationships with consultants, engineers, designers, and other specifying parties to improve product inclusion in projects
  • Manage project enquiries and provide design support with a focus on accuracy, quality, and timely turnaround
  • Track projects through feasibility and design stages, keeping information current and communicating progress clearly
  • Record meetings, presentations, customer activity, and opportunity updates accurately in the CRM
  • Collect market feedback, including competitor moves, pricing changes, customer insight, and industry trends, and share this information internally
  • Support profitable growth through planning, pricing, negotiation, and converting opportunities into signed purchase orders
  • Coordinate internal documentation handover and assist with delivery through to completion, including purchase order confirmations and project details
  • Represent the company professionally at industry events and development activities

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in B2B sales, particularly in technical, engineered, infrastructure, construction, or specification-focused settings. You should be comfortable working independently in a field-based role and be able to influence a range of stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated success in business-to-business sales, ideally in a technical or specification-led environment
  • Solid relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate work under pressure, with awareness of margin and costing
  • Organised approach to territory planning, activity tracking, and meeting sales targets and budgets
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confidence presenting to stakeholders
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM platforms
  • Full, clean driver’s licence and the ability to work autonomously in a field-based role

What is on offer

  • A high-autonomy territory position based in Auckland with broad exposure to stakeholders
  • A professional workplace that values technical credibility, quality delivery, and customer outcomes
  • Continued professional development through industry participation and networking

Application note

Candidates who are commercially minded, customer-focused, and experienced in solution-based selling are encouraged to apply with a CV and a short cover letter that outlines relevant experience.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
