Role overview

The Environmental Division in Stafford is seeking a Sample Receipt Officer to join an established team. This position centres on the handling of incoming and outgoing goods that support the efficiency and success of a commercial laboratory. It is a busy, varied role that requires careful unpacking, sorting and accurate processing.

Key duties

• Accept client deliveries and check that samples meet the required testing criteria.
• Log incoming sample deliveries into the laboratory system, including sorting and labelling.
• Review and interpret client paperwork and instructions.
• Arrange and chase freight collections for internal and interstate samples.
• Communicate with internal and external clients about sample submissions.
• Keep filing systems and documentation organised and up to date.
• Carry out general housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain strong occupational health and safety standards.

• Ability to code or program, such as using VBA, Python, R, SQL or similar tools.
• Exposure to or enthusiasm for robotics, artificial intelligence, process automation or digital optimisation.
