Role Overview
This opening is for an EUC SCCM engineer based in Hyderabad. The role focuses on maintaining, configuring, and supporting desktop technologies in a distributed environment, with a strong emphasis on software deployment, patch management, imaging, and workstation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SCCM-based inventory, software distribution, and patching processes.
- Handle image creation and deployment, including Windows 7 and Windows 10 imaging workflows.
- Build custom deployment scripts using tools such as VBS and batch scripting.
- Work with package server, task server, and PXE server concepts.
- Troubleshoot Windows server, client, and network-related issues at both server and endpoint levels.
- Create custom scripts to collect inventory data from client systems.
- Support application and patch testing, release, and deployment through SCCM.
- Manage SCCM clients across all supported levels and modules.
- Handle SCCM-related components such as PC transplant, help desk solutions, and Carbon Copy.
- Generate reports using SQL queries and support reporting needs.
- Resolve issues escalated by L1 and L2 support teams.
- Configure access controls within the SCCM application portal.
- Support SCCM database administration, performance tuning, and basic awareness of database clustering.
- Use modern scripting tools, including Windows Shell and Python, where needed.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in SCCM and end-user computing support.
- Strong practical knowledge of inventory management, software distribution, patch management, and image management through SCCM.
- Solid understanding of imaging engines and workstation imaging technologies, especially for Windows 7 and Windows 10.
- Ability to write custom scripts for deployment and inventory tasks.
- Good knowledge of SCCM infrastructure concepts such as package server, task server, and PXE server.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows servers, Windows clients, and networking issues.
- Hands-on experience with SCCM client management and related modules.
- Ability to create SQL-based reports and work with SCCM databases.
- Experience supporting large-scale operating system upgrades from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, SCCM, TCP/IP, DNS, Windows 10 imaging, deployment, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of DMZs, encryption, backup tools such as Backup Exec or similar systems, and antivirus products such as McAfee or similar solutions.
- MCSE or an equivalent certification is preferred.
- Expected to stay current with software applications, services, and technical tools.
- Should be capable of building and distributing software packages.
