Job description
Role Overview
In this position, you will help keep the store running smoothly by handling administrative tasks tied to staffing, scheduling, payroll support, compliance, and talent acquisition. The role also supports a safe and organized workplace by managing paperwork, maintaining associate records, keeping break and training areas in order, and updating time and attendance information in line with company policies.
Core Focus
You will work alongside store leadership, assistant store managers, and human resources to reduce administrative load and allow them to focus on leadership and strategic priorities. The job involves staying organized, balancing multiple tasks during the day, and supporting both internal partners and customers with a professional, helpful approach.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide courteous, professional support to store leadership, HR, associates, and customers.
- Track driver and associate schedules so products are delivered promptly and stocking runs efficiently.
- Promote safe work habits and help reinforce a strong safety mindset across the store.
- Complete administrative work related to staffing, scheduling, training, compliance, and payroll.
- Maintain associate records and paperwork, including timekeeping and attendance updates.
- Assist with reviewing, organizing, and moving candidates through the hiring process.
- Support administrative handling of worker’s compensation, general liability, and auto claims.
Working Pattern and Travel
This role is generally scheduled during day hours but requires availability in the morning, afternoon, and evening on any day of the week. Regular travel is not expected, though occasional trips for meetings, training, or support at nearby stores may be needed.
Hours, Scheduling, and Physical Expectations
- Full-time hours are typically 39 to 40 per week; part-time scheduling may be up to 25 hours per week, depending on store needs.
- Requests for specific days off must be made in advance and approved by a supervisor.
- You must be able to lift at least 10 pounds without assistance; lifting more than 10 pounds may be required with or without assistance.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or an equivalent credential.
- At least 1 year of retail experience.
- At least 2 years of administrative experience involving data processing, scheduling, tracking information, and office software.
- At least 1 year of experience handling confidential employee information such as personnel files and compliance records.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a cross-functional team with exempt and non-exempt employees.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline.
- 2 years of retail experience, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- 2 years of experience working in a cross-functional team with exempt and non-exempt staff.
- 1 year of experience supporting staffing activities such as posting requisitions, screening candidates, and coordinating interviews.
Pay and Benefits
The hourly pay range for this position is $19.00 to $21.30. The starting rate may differ depending on the role offered, location, education, training, and experience.
