Role overview
Auckland Transport is hiring a Security Analyst to join its Security Operations team in Auckland. This permanent role focuses on day-to-day protection of the organisation’s systems, applications, data, and network environment through security monitoring, investigation, and response.
What you will do
- Protect the in-house computer systems, servers, and network connections by maintaining secure operations.
- Track, investigate, and resolve security incidents, breaches, and vulnerability concerns.
- Monitor alerts, logs, system activity, and network events to identify suspicious or malicious behaviour.
- Assess the scope, impact, and root cause of incidents using security data and log analysis.
- Support vulnerability management by helping identify, assess, prioritise, and follow up on remediation work.
- Assist incident response efforts with evidence collection, containment support, and incident reporting.
- Review user behaviour and access patterns to identify potential security risks.
- Improve security monitoring processes and response procedures in partnership with infrastructure, network, cloud, and application teams.
- Prepare clear documentation and practical recommendations to help reduce risk.
- Stay current on emerging cyber threats, attack methods, and security best practices.
