Job description
Role OverviewThis position combines personal protection and professional driving. The selected candidate will safeguard a VIP client while also operating the assigned vehicle with strong defensive-driving habits, awareness of surroundings, and strict confidentiality. Deployment may be at a corporate, residential, or diplomatic setting anywhere in India, depending on client needs.Reporting LineThe role reports to the Assignment Manager, the client’s Security Coordinator, or the G4S Executive Protection team lead.LocationPan India, with deployment decided by client requirement.ResponsibilitiesProvide close protection to the principal during travel, public movement, and at residence or work locations.Stay alert at all times to identify and discourage possible threats.Move the client safely between destinations and coordinate with site security staff when required.Plan routes in advance, assess risk, and prepare backup arrangements before movement.Drive the assigned vehicle, which may be a sedan, SUV, or armored vehicle, while following traffic laws and VIP movement protocols.Remain composed in dense traffic, crowded areas, and emergency situations.Keep the vehicle clean, fuelled, and ready for use.Carry out checks before travel and inform the manager or employer of any mechanical concern.Respond quickly to attacks, medical incidents, or road accidents.Move the principal to safety and contact law enforcement or the control room according to SOPs.Provide basic first aid or arrange emergency medical evacuation when needed.Protect client privacy and keep all schedule, location, and personal details strictly confidential.Maintain professional behaviour, polite communication, and appropriate language at all times.Safeguard the vehicle and other assets while parked or stationary.Watch the surroundings during stops and drop-offs for unusual or risky activity.Report suspicious behaviour near the client’s property or vehicle.EligibilityCandidates should be between 28 and 50 years old, physically fit, alert, and well-built. Minimum education is 10th pass, though 12th pass is preferred. A valid LMV driving licence is required, along with 3 to 5 years of accident-free driving experience. The role also calls for 3 to 7 years of experience in personal security or VIP driving. Prior work as a bodyguard, PSO, or ex-serviceman is preferred.Working ConditionsThis is a demanding role with long and flexible hours based on the VIP’s schedule. It may involve inter-city or outstation travel. Dress code can be uniform or civil attire depending on client SOP, and formal clothing may be necessary. Work can include on-call duties on weekends and public holidays.Compensation and BenefitsThe pay is aligned with the highly skilled category and may include extra allowances based on risk level and working hours. Depending on deployment, night-duty, travel, and outstation allowances may also apply. Statutory benefits include PF, ESI, bonus, gratuity, leave, and insurance coverage.
