Role Summary

This full-time, on-site position in Nairobi focuses on protecting company facilities, employees, visitors, and assets through attentive monitoring, controlled access, and timely response to incidents. The role requires regular patrols, surveillance checks, identity verification, and strict adherence to established security procedures.

The Security Professional will also maintain incident records, prepare clear reports, and escalate concerns promptly to supervisors or the appropriate authorities when needed. In addition, the role includes working with internal teams on information and network security support, taking part in security drills and training, and communicating effectively during routine and emergency situations.

Key Duties

  • Carry out routine patrols across assigned areas and remain alert to possible risks or unusual activity.
  • Oversee surveillance systems and monitor for security concerns.
  • Control site entry by verifying identification and enforcing access procedures.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents and security breaches.
  • Record incidents accurately and prepare concise written reports.
  • Escalate serious concerns to supervisors or relevant authorities without delay.
  • Support internal efforts related to information and network security.
  • Participate in drills, training sessions, and emergency response activities.
  • Communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and stakeholders in both normal and urgent situations.

Qualifications and Background

  • Solid understanding of physical security methods such as access control, surveillance oversight, and incident handling.
  • Basic familiarity with cybersecurity and information security concepts for protecting digital information.
  • Working awareness of network security principles to identify and report possible network-related concerns.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting and professional interaction.
  • Experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or a similar field is considered an advantage.
  • Security-related certifications or training, such as basic security officer training, first aid, or fire safety, are helpful.
  • Ability to stay composed under pressure, make sound decisions, and follow procedures consistently.
  • Readiness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • At least a high school diploma or equivalent; further study in security management or a related area is an added advantage.

Additional Information

This role is based on-site in Nairobi and is intended for full-time employment. The position may require shift work across nights, weekends, and holidays depending on operational needs.
