Role overview
The company is hiring a Senior Accountant for its finance function in Qatar. This position focuses on revenue accounting, customer receivables, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
Key responsibilities
- Record revenue entries and reconcile them against customer accounts.
- Capture customer payments and apply them correctly to outstanding invoices.
- Prepare receivables aging summaries, collection status reports, and customer follow-ups.
- Assist with month-end close tasks, including accrued revenue, work-in-progress, and bad debt provisioning.
- Keep provision and accrual working schedules up to date.
- Compile withholding tax information and ensure alignment with Qatar tax requirements.
- Support internal and external audit requests with the needed documents and records.
- Produce and circulate customer aging reports and updates on collection progress.
- Work closely with business and operations teams to recover overdue receivables.
- Communicate with customers about delayed payments and escalate unresolved cases when necessary.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting or financial operations.
- Solid knowledge of accounts receivable workflows and revenue recognition/accounting.
- Familiarity with accounting standards, preferably IFRS.
- Competence with accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong Excel capability, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, and data handling.
- Effective communication, coordination, and follow-up abilities.
- Careful attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and strong ownership of work.
- Prior exposure to customer receivables management.
- Experience working with Qatar tax regulations.
