About the Company
Centrus Accounting Services L.L.C is an Abu Dhabi-based firm focused on accounting, taxation, audit assistance, and business advisory. The company supports businesses with record keeping, compliance, VAT-related work, and reporting, delivered with accuracy and professionalism.
The team is seeking a Senior Accountant with solid accounting expertise, hands-on UAE VAT experience, strong attention to detail, and the confidence to manage client accounts independently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee routine accounting work for several client accounts.
- Maintain financial statements, general ledgers, bank reconciliations, and accounts payable/receivable records.
- Prepare VAT returns and ensure all UAE VAT obligations are met.
- Check accounting entries, invoices, receipts, and related supporting paperwork for accuracy.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing activities.
- Compile management reports, cash flow statements, and financial summaries for clients.
- Work with clients to collect documents, resolve queries, and obtain financial information.
- Support audit readiness by arranging schedules, reports, and other required documentation.
- Follow UAE accounting standards, tax rules, and internal company policies.
- Spot accounting mismatches and recommend corrective action.
- Help improve accounting workflows and client reporting methods.
- Provide guidance or supervision to junior accountants when needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a closely related discipline.
- At least 3 to 5 years of accounting experience, ideally within the UAE.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT and the basics of corporate tax.
- Hands-on experience with accounting tools such as Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Tally, Xero, or similar systems.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.
- Ability to handle several client accounts while meeting deadlines.
- Strong command of Excel.
- Good communication and client-facing skills.
- Detail-oriented approach with solid problem-solving ability.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CA, CMA, or CPA will be considered an advantage.
