Role context
This Senior Accountant position is based in Dubai and sits within a finance environment where strong SAP and accounting expertise is needed to manage everyday activities accurately. The role involves handling requests from both external suppliers and internal stakeholders, understanding the supplier chain workflow, and bringing advanced knowledge of fixed asset capitalization.
Key responsibilities
The role covers general ledger, fixed assets, and accounts payable oversight, with close coordination across controlling, tax, operations, and audit teams.
- Review and maintain analysis, aging, and clearance follow-up for class 4xxxx accounts.
- Support the controlling team with reconciliation and follow-up for class 4 accounts.
- Match TERDME capitalized COD accruals against Assets CO CAPEX COD records.
- Work with controlling to ensure provisions, impairments, and general accruals are recorded correctly.
- Help eliminate unnecessary general accrual balances.
- Assist the tax team with key analyses and VAT account clearing.
- Prepare CAP files for the required entities and reconcile them with the reporting dashboard.
- Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Handle monthly foreign exchange revaluation.
- Prepare IFRS 16 assessments, calculations, and supporting schedules.
- Produce financial statements for free zone entities.
- Reconcile assets with the operations team.
- Support physical asset stock counts.
- Keep work-in-progress asset records accurate and up to date.
- Provide monthly capex analysis to controlling.
- Reconcile carry-forward balances.
- Coordinate with controlling to capture required accruals.
- Submit fixed asset and depreciation analyses to external auditors.
- Update accounts payable procedures as needed.
- Ensure all SAP postings and supporting documents are correct.
- Manage the full payable cycle and make sure internal controls are in place.
- Respond to auditor questions related to accounts.
- Post monthly accruals and reversals as requested by controlling.
- Maintain accurate accounts payable aging records.
Candidate profile
