Job description

Role overview

RAW London is hiring a Senior Creative Strategist to take end-to-end ownership of a varied portfolio of charity-sector accounts. The role centres on shaping the creative direction behind campaigns, content, messaging and fundraising ideas, turning complex information into clear strategic briefs that drive standout work.

You’ll work hand in hand with account, creative and production colleagues, as well as client stakeholders, to understand business goals, audience needs, challenges and wider market trends. Your work will include research, workshop facilitation, brief refinement and the development of propositions that can be brought to life through creative execution.

As a senior team member, you will also contribute to new business pitches and help evolve RAW’s strategic approach alongside the Strategy Director, ensuring the agency keeps bringing fresh thinking to changing client needs.

The role is best suited to someone with a strong background in creative strategy within the third sector, either in-house or agency-side, and a genuine belief in the power of creativity to create positive change.

Key responsibilities

  • Take strategic leadership across multiple accounts, including campaign strategy, insight reporting, messaging frameworks, fundraising products and internal creative briefs.
  • Carry out research into audience behaviour, market conditions and wider behavioural trends to shape strategic recommendations.
  • Work with research partners where necessary to strengthen insight development.
  • Review and sharpen client briefs, bringing a clear view of audience needs and commercial or fundraising opportunity.
  • Support and provoke creative development by translating briefs into inspiring internal direction.
  • Contribute to new business activity by helping to shape and present insight-led ideas.
  • Work with the accounts team to spot opportunities within existing client relationships and support account growth.
  • Partner with clients and external stakeholders to understand objectives, constraints and growth opportunities.
  • Plan and facilitate workshops and review sessions with client teams.
  • Collaborate with creative colleagues to help shape distinctive campaign ideas.
  • Support clients in responding to emerging fundraising challenges.
  • Work with the Strategy Director to promote best practice and identify ways to evolve RAW’s strategic offer.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a strategist, creative strategist or in a similar role within a marketing or fundraising environment.
  • Background in the third sector, either through in-house roles or substantial agency experience with third-sector clients.
  • Understanding of creative testing and experience working alongside media agencies.
  • Strong ability to turn research and data into sharp insight and ambitious strategic direction.
  • Comfort working collaboratively with creative teams to develop ideas into tangible output.
  • Confidence in leading client presentations and workshop sessions.
  • Ability to work independently while also partnering effectively with other strategists and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong commitment to third-sector communications and to using creativity as a force for change.
