Job description

About the company

Blount Fine Foods is a family-run business that has spent five generations bringing food products to households. The company develops, markets, and manufactures premium fresh prepared foods, including single-serve grab-and-go soups, mac and cheese, and entrées sold in grocery stores nationwide, as well as for hot bars and restaurants. Its portfolio also includes specialty offerings such as organic, gluten-free, and low-sodium products.

Role overview

The Senior Financial Analyst will support Corporate Finance and Accounting with planning, reporting, and analysis. This role works closely with business leaders to build budgets and forecasts, review monthly performance, assess business opportunities, and turn financial data into practical recommendations that guide decision-making.

Key responsibilities

The position is responsible for delivering financial reporting and analysis that help shape business performance and strategy. It includes supporting product cost accounting, non-standard analysis, and cost estimates for business units to strengthen profitability and operational outcomes. The role also involves preparing monthly variance analysis, spotting trends, and working with Accounting and internal partners to address cost, finance, and accounting matters.

In addition, the analyst will lead and assist with the annual operating plan and quarterly forecasting cycles, perform quarterly standard cost updates, analyze manufacturing variances, and share important findings with leadership. The job also requires ad hoc modeling, reporting, and analysis for special initiatives, along with mentoring junior team members, improving tools and reporting processes, and maintaining planning models and dashboards such as Vena and Power BI. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

Experience and education

A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a similar discipline is preferred. The employer is looking for 3 to 5 years of experience in business finance, financial analysis, accounting, or a closely related area. Strong Excel skills, financial modeling capability, reporting experience, and the ability to analyze data and explain business implications clearly are important. Experience with product cost accounting, standard costing, or non-standard analysis is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with Sage X3, Power BI, Vena, or comparable ERP, planning, reporting, and analytics tools is considered an advantage.

Additional qualifications

The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, be detail-oriented, organized, and able to work to deadlines. The role also calls for a results-focused mindset, initiative, accountability, and a continuous-improvement approach.

Total compensation and benefits

This role comes with medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 401(k) with company match; paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays; education assistance; life insurance; short-term disability coverage; discounts on Blount products at the company retail location; and a discretionary annual bonus program.
