Job description
Role overview
This opportunity is being shared on behalf of a partner organization that handles all applications and the remaining hiring steps. The employer is seeking a Senior HR Generalist based in the United States.
You will be a key HR partner across the entire employee journey in a fast-moving, service-driven environment. The role combines day-to-day HR operations with advisory support, helping employees and managers with onboarding, offboarding, payroll, employee relations, and policy administration. Success in this position depends on accuracy, discretion, responsiveness, and a strong focus on improving both HR processes and the overall employee experience.
In this hands-on role, you will work closely with internal stakeholders to support compliance, solve issues, and contribute to initiatives that influence workplace culture and operational efficiency.
Key accountabilities
- Oversee employee lifecycle activities from start to finish, including onboarding, offboarding, promotions, internal transfers, and updates to employee records.
- Coordinate role changes, transitions, and organizational moves through to completion.
- Maintain accurate, reliable, and confidential information within HR systems.
- Prepare, review, and run biweekly payroll for US employees, including earnings, deductions, tax items, and other adjustments.
- Manage multi-state payroll tax compliance tasks such as filings, updates, and remittances.
- Administer leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, and other required company or statutory leave policies.
- Support employee relations matters by advising on policy interpretation, helping resolve conflicts, and assisting with performance-related concerns.
- Respond to HR questions through shared inboxes and ensure employee and manager requests are handled promptly.
- Support legal and policy compliance, including employment regulations, internal audit standards, and I-9/E-Verify processes.
- Assist with offboarding activities, including exit coordination and unemployment claim support.
- Help produce HR reports, support audits, and contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts.
- Take part in HR projects and provide additional operational support as business needs evolve.
Candidate profile
The ideal candidate brings broad HR generalist experience and can balance operational precision with strong advisory judgment. You should be comfortable managing multiple priorities, handling sensitive information carefully, and working across different teams and seniority levels.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a similar field is required; professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
- At least 3-5+ years of progressive experience in HR generalist roles spanning multiple HR disciplines.
- Solid working knowledge of core HR areas such as payroll, employee relations, compliance, and employee lifecycle administration.
- Exposure to internal recruiting or mobility programs is considered an advantage.
- Experience using HRIS tools; UKG experience is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Outlook, and Word; PowerPoint and OneNote are a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability.
- Proven ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Capable of working independently, managing competing demands, and meeting deadlines under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving ability and practical decision-making skills in everyday HR situations.
Benefits
- Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
- Paid time off along with company-paid holidays.
- Tuition reimbursement to encourage continued learning and development.
- A casual, employee-friendly workplace culture.
- The chance to contribute to meaningful HR initiatives and operational improvements.
- Stable employment with broad exposure to a wide range of HR responsibilities.
