About the business

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group focused on manufacturing precision components. As a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd., the company is developing India’s first AI-enabled, advanced semiconductor foundry. Role overview

The Senior Manager will take charge of sourcing and procurement activities tied to electronics components and related supply chain requirements. The position calls for managing vendor quotations, commercial negotiations, cost optimization, supplier risk control, and early-stage collaboration with engineering teams to support new product introduction efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the sourcing and RFQ process by coordinating quotations, evaluating vendor bids, and negotiating pricing, lead time, and minimum order quantity with both domestic and international suppliers.
  • Review BOM-related RFQs, work on sales quotations, and ensure commercial proposals are submitted to sales on time after the required internal approvals are secured.
  • Monitor supply risk, anticipate component obsolescence, and build backup sourcing plans with alternate suppliers to reduce disruption.
  • Work closely with R&D and engineering teams at the early NPI stage to help establish and maintain the Approved Vendor List.

Required profile

  • Strong understanding of the supply base for active and passive parts, connectors, PCB, and contract manufacturing models.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP tools such as SAP Ariba, contract handling including MSAs and NDAs, and working with supplier networks across global markets, especially in Asia.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Usually 12 to 15 years of experience in electronics procurement, with the ability to read and interpret technical datasheets and component ecosystems.
  • Experience must come from the EMS industry.
