Job description

Role overview

AutoTrader.ca is a major Canadian digital automotive business, operating well-known brands that support vehicle buying, selling, financing, software, and related lending services across Canada. The company is part of the AutoScout24 group and is focused on using data and analytics to improve how marketing decisions are made.

This position is for an experienced Marketing Data Analyst who will own the marketing analytics setup and help drive more efficient, higher-ROI decisions across a multi-channel marketing funnel. The role suits someone with a mix of technical depth, sound commercial judgment, and the ability to work closely with senior leadership on complex, business-critical analyses. The team also expects a strong, practical approach to using AI as part of everyday analytical work.

Key responsibilities

  • Create scalable data models and pipelines inside the data lake to bring together marketing data from multiple channels.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards that track demand, acquisition, and marketing performance, using strong data visualization principles to make insights easy to act on.
  • Support self-serve analytics for marketing teams by organizing dependable data sources and building automated, scalable solutions.
  • Collaborate with online, app, and offline marketing teams to provide insights that improve multi-channel execution, media planning, budget decisions, and user acquisition.
  • Work with other analysts to assess performance across platforms such as Google Analytics, Adjust, AppsFlyer, Google Ads, Meta, and Criteo, and turn the findings into strategic recommendations.
  • Drive exploratory analysis work such as new KPI design, A/B testing, incrementality analysis, offline measurement, and attribution modeling.
  • Deliver deep-dive analysis and management-ready reports, and lead cross-functional projects from start to finish while coordinating timelines and stakeholders.
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve the speed, quality, and scale of analysis, reporting, data preparation, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in marketing analytics, ideally in online marketplaces, B2C, or B2B settings, with solid exposure to online/app marketing, campaign optimization, and budget allocation.
  • Strong SQL capability, plus hands-on experience with data pipelines and ELT workflows using tools such as Airflow and dbt.
  • Working familiarity with cloud data platforms such as BigQuery, Redshift, or Snowflake.
  • Practical experience with BI and dashboard tools such as Tableau, QuickSight, Power BI, or similar products.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Analytics, mobile measurement partners like Adjust and AppsFlyer, and ad platforms including Google, Meta, and Criteo.
  • Ability to turn complex datasets into clear recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences, including C-level leaders.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a working understanding of statistical concepts.
  • Proven ability to independently lead cross-functional analytics initiatives in collaborative, multi-level organizations.
  • Comfort and curiosity around using AI tools to improve analytical workflows.
  • Strong spoken and written English communication skills.

Preferred experience

It will be an advantage if you have experience with web/app attribution, budget planning, or forecasting models. Familiarity with Amazon QuickSight, Google Search Console, and Google Tag Manager is also considered a plus.

Benefits

  • Access to benefits from day one, including gym discounts, an employee and family assistance program, virtual wellness events, conference and training budget, and regular internal training.
  • Retirement support through a 3% pension match, along with multiple forms of income protection.

Compensation

The base pay for this role is CAD 100,000 to CAD 140,000 per year. The final offer may be higher depending on relevant experience, skills, location, and market conditions. The overall reward package may also include benefits, bonus opportunities, and other employee offerings.
