Job Overview

ECI is seeking an experienced Senior NOC Engineer for an urgent opening in Bangalore, India. This role is critical for maintaining the stability and performance of our clients' networks. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in network support, monitoring, and troubleshooting within a high-volume Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical acumen and excellent communication skills, capable of operating within a 24x7x365 operational framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage network operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Monitor network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks, to detect and resolve issues promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex network problems, analyzing traffic behavior and performance bottlenecks.
  • Configure, manage, and maintain network devices such as Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Fortinet firewalls.
  • Ensure robust security by managing and monitoring firewall configurations.
  • Support and manage wireless LAN controllers and access networks.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
  • Document network configurations, incidents, and resolutions thoroughly.
  • Communicate technical network issues clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Multitask efficiently in a demanding NOC environment and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Proactively identify and address potential network issues to prevent downtime.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in network support and monitoring.
  • At least 2 years of dedicated experience as a NOC Engineer within network operations.
  • Proven experience in configuring, managing, and monitoring routers and switches (Cisco or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls such as Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, and Fortinet.
  • Familiarity with wireless LAN controllers and access networks.
  • Strong grasp of TCP/IP networking fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • A customer-centric approach with strong prioritization abilities.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving network issues.
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in high-pressure situations.
  • A proactive and self-motivated work ethic.
  • Willingness to work in a 24x7x365 operational environment.
