You will be instrumental in ensuring high availability and seamless operations during major events and daily activities. The position involves managing a complex hybrid environment encompassing on-premises systems and cloud services.
Key Responsibilities

- Manage hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI) environments to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, patch management, capacity planning, and hardware lifecycle management.
- Lead infrastructure projects, including preparing RFPs, evaluating vendors, managing system migrations, and creating technical documentation.
- Provide advanced L2/L3 technical support for escalated incidents, resolving complex infrastructure issues promptly.
- Monitor the health, performance, and security of systems across both on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage CCTV and surveillance infrastructure, ensuring reliable storage, access, and availability of video systems.
- Coordinate incident, problem, and change management processes in alignment with ITIL best practices.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for critical incidents and implement permanent solutions or workarounds.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure service continuity and operational excellence.
- Support high-pressure, time-sensitive operations within sports and event environments.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in infrastructure or system engineering, with a strong background in hybrid environments (combining on-premises and cloud).
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365 / Exchange Online.
- Proficiency in VMware (vSphere, vCenter), Hyper-V (optional), and hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI), with a preference for Dell VxRail.
- Solid experience with Azure IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid services, including Azure Arc, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor.
- Experience managing enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS, e.g., Dell EMC), networking, and backup systems.
- Proficiency in Linux administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Experience in managing SSL certificates, software licensing, and core enterprise infrastructure services.
- A strong understanding of the ITIL framework and practical experience with incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Proven capability to perform effectively in high-availability, mission-critical settings; experience in the sports or event industry is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.
Education and Certifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Technology, or Computer Science is required.
- Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Google Associate Cloud Engineer (or a comparable cloud certification), and Linux+ or equivalent systems engineering certifications.
Additional Information
This role requires supporting demanding operational environments, often under pressure and with tight deadlines, typical of major sporting events.
