About the Company
The company is among Singapore’s largest integrated providers of underground utilities infrastructure. Its work spans construction and maintenance of underground utility systems, sewer pipeline rehabilitation, road and airfield construction and upkeep, asphalt premix manufacturing, and construction waste recycling.
Role Overview
This position calls for a hands-on and organized Site Operations Supervisor to oversee and coordinate water services site teams across Singapore. The role focuses on supervising site surveys, managing pipe laying and urgent repair activities, ensuring job plans are followed, and maintaining safety and operational standards. The supervisor will also support workforce development, coordinate with the project team on scheduling and resources, and handle basic public-facing issues on site.
Key Duties
- Carry out pre-work site checks and confirm when work is ready to begin.
- Direct multiple site teams working on water services activities such as pipe laying and emergency repairs at different Singapore locations.
- Address minor public relations matters, including issuing notices and responding to small site-related complaints.
- Make sure work is carried out according to approved job documents and plans.
- Spot gaps in worker performance and skill levels and arrange training support where needed.
- Review team members’ growth plans and help guide career progression when appropriate.
- Promote and enforce safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure all site activities comply strictly with safety laws and internal safety requirements, and take firm action against non-compliance.
- Coordinate with the project team to plan work schedules.
- Work with project colleagues to allocate manpower and machinery effectively.
- Review operational issues, identify risks of loss, and implement preventive steps.
- Look for opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operating costs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should hold a Nitec, Higher Nitec, or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or a similar discipline. A minimum of 3 years’ experience in site operations or a related area is required, with preference for candidates who have worked in water services or civil engineering projects. The role also requires solid knowledge of site processes, especially pipe laying and urgent repair work, along with a strong grasp of safety rules and enforcement practices.
Additional Requirements
Candidates should be able to perform site surveys, coordinate schedules with project teams, and use strong problem-solving skills to improve efficiency and control costs. Good communication and interpersonal abilities are needed to manage stakeholders and handle basic public relations on site. The ability to identify training needs and support team development is also important. A valid Class 2 or Class 3 driving licence is considered an advantage for site mobility.
Working Arrangement
This is an onsite role based in Singapore. The schedule follows a 6-day work week. The office is located at No. 3 Sungei Kadut Drive, Singapore 729556 (North Singapore).
