Job description

Role Overview

This full-time position is based in Abuja, Lagos, or Rivers State, Nigeria. The role focuses on strengthening brand presence, growing online communities, and driving engagement through effective social media planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe social media trends and assess how they affect brand visibility and recall.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports covering social media activity, channel metrics, and actionable insights to support marketing decisions.
  • Respond to audience questions, encourage discussion, and create engaging content in real time to help expand the community.
  • Capture, publish, and publicize events online to maximize reach and participation.
  • Identify emerging social platforms and new opportunities for reaching relevant stakeholders and communities.
  • Promote the organization’s offerings effectively through social media channels.
  • Grow the organization’s followers and improve engagement across platforms.
  • Design and implement social media strategies that support visibility, engagement, and audience growth.
  • Manage community interaction by replying to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Plan and run targeted social campaigns, including paid promotions, to support goals such as lead generation and brand awareness.
  • Measure and report on key metrics such as engagement, reach, and conversions using social analytics tools and platform insights.
  • Keep current with new trends, tools, and best practices in social media and apply them where appropriate.
  • Build relationships with influencers, advocates, and relevant industry figures to extend reach and credibility.
  • Handle negative feedback or social media crises alongside the Team Lead and Corporate Communications to protect reputation.
  • Use social listening tools to monitor brand mentions, competitor activity, and industry developments.
  • Ensure social media activity supports wider digital marketing objectives and business priorities.
  • Carry out additional related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working as a Social Media Manager or in a comparable position.
  • Strong understanding of major social media platforms and their core functions.
  • Working knowledge of design tools such as Canva and Adobe Suite, along with video editing software.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Creative approach with a strong sense of visual presentation and storytelling.
  • Ability to interpret data and turn it into practical marketing actions.
  • Well-developed organizational and multitasking abilities, with the capacity to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with influencer marketing and brand partnerships is advantageous.
