Job description

Role overview

Tapestry Learning Partnership, formed in January 2026 through the merger of QEGSMAT and Djanogly Learning Trust, is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Social Time Supervisor for Chellaston Academy in Derby. The position is central to maintaining a calm, safe, and orderly atmosphere during break and lunchtime, while supporting students’ wellbeing and positive conduct.

What the role involves

As part of the wider school team, you will help supervise students during social times and contribute to high standards of behaviour across the academy. The role supports a respectful, inclusive environment where students can feel secure and cared for.

About the school

Chellaston Academy places students at the centre of everything it does. Its aim is to develop mature, confident, and successful global citizens, guided by the values of Integrity, Care, and Excellence. The academy values the whole child, not just exam results, and works to build self-belief, confidence, and self-esteem while recognising individual strengths and achievements.

The school offers a broad and balanced curriculum and works closely with parents and carers to raise expectations around respect, behaviour, presentation, manners, attendance, and punctuality. The academy is described as a place where diversity is celebrated, inclusion informs all practice, students feel safe and supported, relationships are based on trust and respect, and staff wellbeing is genuinely valued.

What the trust offers

Joining Tapestry Learning Partnership means becoming part of a professional community focused on excellence, development, and wellbeing. Staff can expect access to supportive colleagues, opportunities for learning and progression, and benefits that support health and wellbeing, alongside an organisation that values work-life balance.

Safeguarding and compliance

The trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this responsibility. This post requires an Enhanced DBS check and the successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK. It is a criminal offence to work, or attempt to work, in regulated activity with children if you are on the DBS barred list.

The employer may also complete an online presence check as part of pre-employment screening. This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, so shortlisted applicants must disclose all unspent cautions or convictions, as well as any adult cautions or convictions that are not protected under the relevant legislation.

Additional information

Closing date: 28 June 2026.

Provisional interview date: week commencing 29 June 2026.
