Deloitte is looking for a Software Developer to join its Information Technology Services team in Auckland. This opportunity sits within a group that builds and supports cloud-based applications and integrations used to enable the business and improve delivery for internal teams and clients. The role is suited to someone who wants to contribute to secure, scalable and high-performing software while working with a collaborative technology team.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will partner with internal stakeholders and developers to design, build, improve and support cloud-enabled solutions. The work spans application development, integration, performance tuning, testing, migration support and continuous improvement.

• Create, maintain and extend .NET applications and cloud solutions.
• Work with Azure components such as App Services, API Gateway, Logic Apps, Service Bus and Front Door.
• Apply object-oriented design to build reliable back-end systems.
• Develop user-friendly interfaces that are practical and easy to use.
• Collaborate on code reviews, shared development work and performance optimisation.
• Use modern DevOps practices, including continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Write automated tests and assist with moving on-premise applications into Azure.
• Build software with security and performance requirements in mind.
• Keep current with emerging technologies and contribute ideas for improvement.

What you need

The ideal candidate brings at least 2 years of full-time IT experience, with a strong background in software engineering and cloud-based development. You should also have hands-on exposure to the technologies and practices used in the stack.

• At least 2 years of full-time experience in an IT role focused on software development and cloud solutions.
• Strong capability in C#, .NET Core, WASM and Blazor.
• Experience using Azure services, including App Services, Service Bus, API Gateway and Front Door.
• Solid understanding of APIs, including REST and SOAP, plus microservices architecture.
• Practical knowledge of infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.
• Working familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end frameworks.
• Experience with Git and DevOps tooling such as Azure DevOps and CI/CD automation.
• Good analytical thinking, troubleshooting ability and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well across teams and stakeholders.
