About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a dedicated Spa Therapist to join their team in Doha, Qatar. This full-time, onsite position is within the non-management category. The Spa Therapist will be responsible for providing a range of massage and body treatments to guests, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction throughout their spa experience. This role requires maintaining high standards of professionalism, cleanliness, and adherence to company policies. The therapist will also play a role in promoting spa services and retail products.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a variety of massage services, utilizing appropriate props and products.
  • Administer body treatments such as scrubs, wraps, and hydrotherapy.
  • Conduct thorough guest consultations to understand needs and identify any contraindications like allergies, high blood pressure, or pregnancy.
  • Stay current with the latest techniques and modalities in the spa industry.
  • Escort guests to and from treatment rooms, ensuring a seamless transition.
  • Prepare and arrange the workstation, treatment room, and drapes for services.
  • Regularly check in with guests to ensure their comfort, safety, and security during treatments.
  • Actively promote and sell spa and salon services, including related retail products.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and sterilization of all tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the workstation and treatment room are kept tidy, dispose of used linens and trash, and secure all supplies and equipment at the end of each shift.
  • Adhere strictly to the scheduled time for each treatment to maintain operational flow.
  • Manage any inappropriate guest behavior according to Marriott International's standard operating procedures, which may include terminating a service and reporting to a supervisor.
  • Maintain up-to-date skills and required licensure for the service area as per regional regulations.
  • Report any accidents, injuries, or unsafe working conditions to management.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures diligently.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Uphold the confidentiality of proprietary company information.
  • Protect company assets at all times.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests according to established company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs proactively.
  • Express genuine appreciation to guests.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with colleagues and guests.
  • Foster positive working relationships with team members.
  • Perform duties that require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods.
  • Handle objects of varying size and weight, requiring manipulation and turning.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Utilize fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for precise object manipulation.
  • Undertake other reasonable job duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Possession of a valid State or Regional Massage License is mandatory.
  • A minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in spa therapy is required.
  • Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is preferred.
  • No prior supervisory experience is necessary.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
  • Capability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.
  • Proficiency in fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination for detailed work.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Willingness to adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Eligibility

Candidates must possess a valid State or Regional Massage License and have at least one year of related work experience. While a Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is preferred, it is not strictly required. No supervisory experience is needed. This role is open to individuals who can meet the physical demands of the job and are committed to upholding Marriott's standards of service and professionalism.
