Job description
Role OverviewIndia Child Protection is looking for a State Coordinator to lead raid-and-rescue efforts focused on child labourers across the implementing states. The role centers on identifying vulnerable children, coordinating rescues with the right authorities, and ensuring each rescued child receives follow-up support for rehabilitation and reintegration.Key ResponsibilitiesLead state-level identification and survey work to locate children engaged in child labour.Support the activation of District Task Forces (DTF) and ensure meetings are conducted on a regular basis.Coordinate rescue operations with the relevant departments in all implementing states.Ensure FIRs are registered under the applicable legal sections and that traffickers are arrested and premises are sealed where required.Oversee post-rescue procedures, including presentation of children before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and recording statements under Section 164.Drive rescue targets and maintain continuous momentum for rescue activities in the states assigned.Track each rescued child’s follow-up process to support proper integration and rehabilitation in society.Monitor the benefits and schemes received by rescued children so that all eligible support is secured.Maintain complete and updated records of rescued children for follow-up through phone calls, home visits, and other outreach methods.Ensure the team sends timely letters to the relevant departments so benefits and rehabilitation support reach children at the earliest.Facilitate filing of RTIs where needed to support rehabilitation and related actions for rescued children.Build and maintain coordination with government and district administration, police, CWCs, DCPUs, and civil society organizations for protection, rescue, follow-up, and rehabilitation.Prepare and maintain documentation for every child, including case stories, meeting minutes, process notes, rehabilitation cards/documents, follow-up reports, and other relevant records.Take on any additional tasks assigned by the supervisor.Performance ExpectationsNumber of children identified in vulnerable situations.Number of letters/matters escalated to child protection stakeholders.Number of rescue operations conducted.Number of meetings held with police, district magistrates, Child Welfare Committees, District Child Protection Units, and civil society organizations.Number of children rescued and rehabilitated.Number of convergence meetings held with the above officials and stakeholders.Number of success stories, case studies, and significant stories generated.Number of children repatriated and restored.
