Role overview
At The Plaza Doha, part of LXR Hotels & Resorts, this Steward role is centered on keeping back-of-house kitchen and dining support areas clean, organized, and ready for smooth guest service. The position contributes directly to the overall hospitality experience by ensuring standards of cleanliness, presentation, and efficiency are consistently met.
Key responsibilities
- Wash and sanitize chinaware, silverware, cooking tools, pots, pans, and related service items, including polishing silverware when required.
- Track supplies and equipment so that stock remains organized, available, and ready for daily operations.
- Carry out routine cleaning across kitchen and service areas, including mopping floors and removing waste.
- Prepare clean serviceware and assist with setup for banquets, events, and other functions.
- Work in line with hygiene, safety, and chemical-handling procedures, especially when dealing with hazardous materials.
- Escalate any maintenance problems, safety risks, or equipment concerns to the supervisor without delay.
- Support onboarding by guiding and coaching newer team members and helping improve team performance.
