As the company expands in North America, it is looking for independent, entrepreneurial people who can work across time zones and cultures and help bring the brand experience to the United States.
Sézane is hiring a Store Director to support its next chapter in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY. The role calls for someone who can champion the brand with energy, dedication, and a strong sense of style while making sure every customer visit feels exceptional and memorable.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a brand representative on the shop floor by delivering excellent client service, sharing product knowledge, and following core store procedures.
- Lead, coach, schedule, and motivate the store team, including support with hiring and recruitment activities.
- Oversee day-to-day store operations such as visual presentation, retail standards, process improvements, and inventory movement.
- Own the store budget and financial goals while identifying opportunities to improve performance and growth.
- Track commercial results and build action plans that increase sales and reduce costs.
- Manage operating expenses and coordinate supply needs.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration with the Paris headquarters team across functions.
- Ensure retail excellence programs are carried out effectively.
- Work with internal and external partners to resolve issues related to deliveries, stock, IT, maintenance, and security.
- Maintain strong internal controls and accurate inventory and cash management practices.
- Plan and deliver store events, off-site activations, and partnership activities.
- Coach the team to deliver outstanding customer experiences and strong business results.
- Conduct performance reviews with direct reports and set clear goals for the retail team.
- Support recruitment, store organization, team development, and broader HR needs.
- Build a strong client-focused culture and reinforce customer satisfaction across the team.
- Deepen understanding of the local customer base and support initiatives that strengthen loyalty and repeat business.
Requirements
- A motivated, proactive, and positive approach.
- Ability to work independently, stay agile, think entrepreneurially, and stay focused on results.
- Comfort adapting into a strong and effective brand ambassador.
- Solid people leadership skills, with 5 to 7 years of retail management experience and strong commercial judgement.
- Experience in luxury retail or another high-volume, fast-moving retail setting is preferred.
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities.
- French language skills are considered an advantage.
Benefits
