About the Role
Platypus Shoes is looking for a Store Manager to lead the New Plymouth location in a busy retail setting. In this role, you will guide casual team members together with the Assistant Store Manager, focus on lifting sales and KPI outcomes, and make sure customers receive a strong in-store experience. You will also work with the Area Manager to spot opportunities for improvement and support store growth.

Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of the store and for leading the team toward strong commercial results.
- Work toward sales goals and KPI targets while keeping visual merchandising up to standard.
- Inspire and direct the team to deliver high-quality sales and customer service outcomes.
- Track sales results on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, recognising successes and identifying improvement areas.
- Plan rosters and manage wage costs in line with business requirements.
- Train, coach, and support team members to build capability, maintain morale, and strengthen succession planning.
- Maintain stock control, store presentation, and smooth operational execution.
- Ensure the store follows OH&S requirements and relevant legislation.
Skills and Experience
The role calls for someone with proven retail leadership experience and a strong drive for results.
- Background as a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment.
- Confident leadership style with a proactive and outcome-oriented approach.
- Strong verbal communication and team development ability.
- Proven ability to lift sales and manage overall store performance.
- Experience in stock control, store operations, and visual merchandising.
- Genuine commitment to creating a great customer experience.
